Veterans Affairs medical center to honor fallen heroes
Community invited to commemoration


OMAHA, Neb. — The Third Annual Memorial Day Commemoration will be at 4 p.m. May 27 at the Omaha Veterans Affairs medical center main flag pole at 4101 Woolworth Ave.

The event is to honor America’s fallen heroes who served in the U.S. armed forces.

This year’s event will feature an Iraq combat Veteran as keynote speaker, music by the U.S. Air Force Heartland of America Band chamber ensemble, a joint American Legion–Veterans of Foreign Wars color guard and the VA Police Service honor guard.

The event will culminate with the playing of taps and a formal retreat ceremony.

The community is encouraged to attend.
