VA to Hold Memorial Day Commemoration


OMAHA, Neb. — The Department of Veterans Affairs Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System is hosting its 4th Annual Memorial Day Commemoration at 4 p.m., May 25, at its medical center at 4101 Woolworth Ave, Omaha, Neb.


The community is invited to participate.


The event is held at the main flag pole in the front circle of the main entrance of the medical center.


Brig. Gen. Scott A. Gronewold, Director, Joint Staff, Nebraska Joint Forces Headquarters, is the keynote speaker.


Music will be performed by the U.S. Heartland of America Band’s “New Horizons.”


The event will culminate with a formal Retreat ceremony, conducted by the VA NWIHCS Police Ceremonial Honor Guard.


Participants will also include a joint color guard by several area veteran service organizations, the Omaha Police Department Mounted Guard and the American Legion Riders.
