NEWS RELEASE: Veterans Affairs medical center to honor fallen heroes

OMAHA, Neb.— The Fifth Annual Memorial Day Commemoration will be held at 4 p.m. May 24 at the VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System medical center main flag pole at 4101 Woolworth Ave, Omaha, Neb.
The event is to honor America’s fallen heroes who served in the U.S. armed forces.
This year’s keynote speaker is retired Maj. Gen. Roger Lempke, former Nebraska Adjutant General.
The event includes music by the U.S. Air Force Heartland of America Band Offutt Brass, a joint veteran service organization color guard and the VA Police Service ceremonial honor guard.
The event will culminate with the laying of memorial wreaths, playing of taps and a formal retreat ceremony.
The community is encouraged to attend.
