NEWS RELEASE: VA to Hold Welcome Home to Salute Veterans, Military

OMAHA, Neb., — The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is partnering with the Nebraska Danger Football organization to host a Welcome Home and Military Appreciation Night May 24 at the Heartland Events Center, 700 E. Stolley Park Road, Grand Island, Neb.
The game and special events begin at 7 p.m.
The Welcome Home event is hosted each year by the VA to thank returning military members for their service, and to provide information about the vast array of benefits and services available to Veterans.
This year, VA will host an array of information booths at the Danger football game. Vendors include various programs from the VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System, regional office from Lincoln, Neb., Vet Centers and the mobile vet center. Other vendors include veteran service organizations and veteran-related community services.
Tickets to the game are free to active-duty military, Guard, reserve members and veterans when accompanied by at least one individual who has a purchased ticket, which is available at a discount for this event. Service members or Veterans who do not have someone with a ticket to accompany them will be provided a free ticket.
To ensure sufficient tickets are available, military or Veterans must contact the Danger Football club to order the tickets no later than May 17 by calling 308-381-2942.
