NEWS RELEASE: VA to Host 3rd Annual Symposium on Veteran Homelessness

OMAHA, Neb., – The Department of Veterans Affairs Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System hosts its 3rd Annual Symposium on Veteran Homelessness at its Lincoln clinic auditorium Dec. 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 600 S. 70th St., Lincoln, Neb.

The goal of the summit is to provide opportunites for the VA and community partners to partner to address the broad needs of Veterans who are homeless or who are at risk of becoming homeless.

VA expects nearly 100 people from community and government agencies to attend.

The symposium is part of the VA’s overall goal to end homelessness amongst Veterans by 2015.

In Nebraska alone, VA’s efforts has resulted in more than a 36 percent reduction in Veteran homelessness since 2008.
