NEWS RELEASE: VA to Host Grand Opening of Downtown Resource, Referral Center

OMAHA, Neb. -- The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and America First Real Estate Group celebrate the grand opening of services and affordable housing for Veterans with a dedication and ribbon-cutting event at 1:30 p.m., Sept. 5 at 825 Dorcas Street, Omaha, Neb.

The VA’s Community Resource and Referral Center and Mental Health Specialty Services Program open Tuesday in its new location. The center is for Veterans who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.

Staff at the CRRC provides an array of services for these Veterans that include job skills assistance and case-management services through the VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System. Veterans must be eligible for VA health care benefits.

The new CRRC is co-located adjacent to the new Victory Apartments. The 90 units were developed by America First Real Estate Group of Omaha to provide Veterans eligible for VA health care benefits affordable, quality housing.

The community is invited to join in this celebration of Omaha-area Veterans.
