Resident Training Information
Dear Residents, Fellows and Students:
Welcome to the Veterans Affairs Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System. The VA Medical Center at Omaha is an acute care facility and a teaching hospital providing a full range of patient care services, as well as Research. Inpatient and Outpatient healthcare is provided through Medicine, Surgery, Psychiatry, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Neurology, Oncology, Dentistry, and Geriatrics. Strong affiliations exist with the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, Creighton University School of Medicine and many other allied health facilities.
To work at the VA, you will be required to complete many forms and numerous steps during the credentialing process. We apologize for the amount of paperwork needed but your timely completion of these requirements is key to moving forward quickly and efficiently. Please work closely with the department liaisons listed on your specific program page to avoid any unnecessary delays; the department liaisons are available to provide assistance and answer your questions. A step-by-step checklist and all required forms are also provided on your specific program page to help expedite and explain the requirements necessary for all clinical experiences at the VA.
