Take a step toward better health. Walking for as little as 30 minutes a day can reduce your risk of coronary heart disease, improve your blood pressure and blood sugar levels, elevate your mood and reduce your risk of osteoporosis, cancer and diabetes.
Meet Dr. Amy Arouni, Chief of Cardiology, at 9 a.m. Feb. 11 in the main lobby at the Omaha VAMC, 4101 Woolworth Ave., to Walk With A Doc.
The Walk With A Doc program is for any enrolled Veteran and is designed to encourage physical activity. Dependent on the weather, the group will either walk the trail around the VAMC or a path through the facility. During the walk, Veterans will have the opportunity to talk with Dr. Arouni. This program will continue monthly on the second Saturday. The first 50 Veterans to participate will recieve a free pedometer.
