Diabetes Self-Management Education - Comprehensive Class

Location: Room 8011, Omaha VAMC, 4101 Woolworth Ave.
The Diabetes Education Program provides comprehensive education to cover all aspects of diabetes care for adults with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes. The program strives to equip you wil the skills and confidence you need to manage your diabetes successfully. Diabetes educators are available to teach group sessions or individual and family sessions on the basics of self-management.

Comprehensive Class (1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month)
9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Room 8011

Refresher Class (2nd and 3rd Tuesdays of each month)
10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Room 8011

Classes cover: foot care, meal planning, stress, exercise, use of blood sugar meters and monitoring, preventing complications, and medication - insulin and pills.
