Former Prisoners of War (POWs)

Former prisoners of war (POWs) are eligible for special Veterans benefits, including enrollment in VA medical care for treatment in VA hospitals and clinics without copayments, as well as disability compensation for injuries and diseases that have been associated with internment. For more information, contact POW Advocate Erinn Tighe at 800-451-5796, ext. 3491.

Minority Veteran Program

The Minority Veteran Program coordinator serves as an advocate for minority Veterans, conducts outreach activities to promote the awareness and use of VA benefits and services, and evaluates the overall effectiveness of the provision of VA benefits and services. Specifically, minority Veterans are from the following groups: African American, Hispanic, Asian American, Pacific Islander, and Native American, including American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian. Cultural, economic, ethnic differences may hinder Veteran minority groups from accessing VA services. Contact the MVP coordinator, Jodi Ring, at 800-451-5796, ext. 4714.
